AEW Star Chris Jericho has hit out at fans who pick up on small botches that take place during matches.

Jericho joined AEW back when the company was founded in 2019 and is the promotion’s first World Champion.

Speaking to the True Geordie podcast, Jericho explained his rationale:

“Things happen in a match. The f**king word I hate the most that fans use is botch. ‘Oh, you botched that one.’ Shut your f**king mouth. There is no such thing as a botch. This is a live show. Mistakes happen.”

The former World Champion also compared botches in other parts of entertainment and the much different reactions from fans.

“If it happens in a hockey game, the fans don’t start chanting in unison ‘You fucked up, you f**ked up’. If you go to a Broadway play and someone fumbles their lines, people don’t start chanting ‘You f**ked up, you f**ked up.’ You go to a wrestling match and miss a hip toss. People start chanting. That’s bullsh*t. It’s f**king disrespectful.”

Jericho’s most recent match was at the recent Blood and Guts edition of Dynamite where the Jericho Appreciation Society lost to the Blackpool Combat Club.
