Eric Bischoff is convinced that Ari Emanuel made the right decision by pulling Vince McMahon from WWE’s creative process.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Emanuel had removed McMahon from having a say in creative in a move that ‘knighted’ Triple H as WWE’s Head of Creative.
Discussing the move on his “Strictly Business” podcast, Bischoff argued that it was time for Triple H to be the Head of Creative without his father-in-law being involved. He said,
“I think what Ari did was smart. I think it was time. I think Paul Levesque deserves to be that guy and to be held accountable, but along with being accountable, you have to have control. You can’t hold someone accountable without giving them control … I think what Ari did was what any CEO or leader should do, which is put the very best people in roles they can optimize.”
Bischoff later added that he still holds a lot of respect for McMahon for his contributions to the wrestling industry. He said,
“Just because I applaud the decision, it doesn’t mean anything less than a tremendous amount of respect for what Vince McMahon has accomplished over the past 40 years.”
Emanuel’s reasoning behind the move is reportedly that he feels people should focus on the role(s) they have been given, which for McMahon does not include WWE’s creative team.
