Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon has hit out at the U.S. administration during a visit to the nation’s border with Mexico.
McMahon, who failed to win a seat in the U.S. Senate on two occasions, was appointed as Administrator of Small Business Administration in December 2016 by then-President-elect Donald Trump.
After stepping down from Trump’s cabinet in 2019, she assumed new responsibilities within Trump’s reelection campaign and was later named the chairwoman of America First Action.
In a tweet, McMahon spoke about immigration within the U.S. saying:
“The number of illegals entering the US isn’t sustainable!
@ChadFWolf & I visited the border & spoke w/ @CBP as they fight against the overwhelming # of ppl entering the US illegally
We deserve BETTER than a govt that believes in/allows open borders. It’s a danger to our country”
In 2020, McMahon was criticized for a potential conflict of interest after her Super-PAC donated $18.5 million to Florida, shortly before State governor Ron DeSantis declared WWE an essential business and able to function during lockdown measures.
