The hardcore legend Mick Foley has wrestled some of the baddest men in all of pro wrestling. He has spilled blood and lost teeth and has been thrown off the Hell in a Cell structure. Through all that, he’s garnered respect from his peers and fans worldwide. Although many would point to his matches with The Undertaker or even Triple H as his best ones throughout his career, one match is nearest to the hardcore legend’s heart.

During the latest episode of his “Foley Is Pod,” the WWE Hall of Famer spoke about his feud with the legend killer Randy Orton and how the story revolved around his character having a “crisis of confidence.” He pointed to the match against Orton at Backlash 2004 as the best in his career.

“Backlash [2004 against Randy Orton] is number one for me.”

Under the “Cactus Jack” persona, Foley battled Orton in a brutal No Holds Barred match for Orton’s Intercontinental Championship. The hardcore legend fought tooth and nail to destroy Orton for his past sins against him. Unfortunately for Foley, Orton would win the match and retain his championship.
