During a recent interview for Metro.uk that we recently covered, Mickie James talked about WWE rejecting several ideas that she pitched and later using some of them for other wrestlers. There is however an idea that has yet to be used, or re-used in this case.
The story in question saw Chelsea Green becoming obsessed with Mickie James, leading to an angle that was similar to the one in which Mickie herself did that with Trish Stratus. The story back then culminated in Mickie defeating Trish for the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 22: “Within the pitch of Chelsea Green on the way out, it would’ve been a perfect, magical re-circling way to build Chelsea and elevate her and make her a star as I was transitioning to find my foot into this other [backstage] role” said James.
Mickie has no idea on why the angle was not approved despite its potential: “For me, I felt like it was the perfect set of business, but didn’t seem to hit on that level. And, whatever, I don’t wanna say I get it because I don’t get it. I know that that story would have been money and I know that would have ended up probably rivaling Trish and I’s angle because it was going to mimic and mirror it, but in a different capacity so well.”
