As we previously reported here on eWn, Ace Steel worked as a producer for Impact Wrestling at Bound for Glory 2023 as well as the subsequent fallout TV tapings, and received tremendous praise for his work behind the scenes.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Impact Wrestling initially considered putting Steel in an onscreen role.
The plan was for Steel to wrestle in the Call Your Shot gauntlet match. However, it was decided that Steel’s appearance would lead to CM Punk chants, and since Punk wasn’t going to appear at Bound for Glory, the idea was dropped.
