The Road to Final Battle goes through Florida as Ring of Honor Elite comes to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, November 11! The night will be centered around the event’s namesake, The Elite, the trio of IWGP United States Champion Kenny Omega and two-thirds of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks, but will also feature all of your favorite stars like ROH World Television Champion Kenny King, Jay Lethal, Dalton Castle, Best Friends, The Addiction, and more!
Two of the biggest, baddest ROH stars looked horns in the ring in Las Vegas on a recent episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling in a four corner survival match to establish a number one contender for the ROH World Television Title. When these two stars met in the center of the ring, electricity filled the building and sparks flew. Now, for the first time, these two will meet one-on-one in Ft. Lauderdale!
SHANE TAYLOR vs. PUNISHMENT MARTINEZ
Shane Taylor has been a hitman for hire, taking money to do dirty work for everyone from QT Marshall up to ROH World Champion Cody. Taylor picked up a victory over Josh Woods at Global Wars: Columbus and then went toe-to-toe with the legendary Minoru Suzuki at Global Wars: Chicago, standing shoulder to shoulder with former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal and current ROH World Television Champion Kenny King.
Taylor is about getting paid, making money, and earning enough to support his family so they can avoid the life he faced growing up in Cleveland. These opportunities have earned him bigger checks and puts distance between his present and his past.
But despite all the horrors Taylor has seen in his life, he may face his biggest nightmare at ROH Elite!
The 6’7” Punishment Martinez has been a big-match player in 2017, defeating Frankie Kazarian at Supercard of Honor, Jay White in a Vegas Street Fight at Death Before Dishonor, and Will Ospreay at Global Wars: Buffalo while picking up wins over Jonathan Gresham, Warbeard Hanson, and Flip Gordon on television. And it was on television that Martinez first collided with Taylor.
Sparks flew as Colt Cabana and Ian Riccaboni hoped they’d one day see these two behemoths clash. The ROH Board of Directors quickly found out that ROH’s commentary duo weren’t the only ones who wanted to see this match and it was signed! In Ft. Lauderdale, two of the biggest, baddest ROH stars will do battle!
