This week’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has an update on FOX Sports’ plans for WWE Backstage.
This is where it was noted that WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was offered a spot on the show despite him being under contract with AEW to do commentary.
CM Punk, Taz, and “many others” had tryouts to be a regular panelist on the show. Also, FOX is said be the producer in charge of the show, and it will be similar in format.
Ross turned down the offer. Ross has done work with FOX Sports in the past, and he likely has a good relationship with them.
WWE Backstage is slated to debut on November 5 on FOX Sports.
