SmackDown star Jaxson Ryker posted a tweet that supported President Donald Trump earlier this week. This came at a time where the conflict over police brutality and George Floyd’s death was at its highest. As a result, he took a lot of criticism.
A 2009 Facebook post from Ryker also resurfaced that said people of color ‘need to realize how good they have it.’
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that tensions are still ‘very high’ backstage over it, and ‘the locker room is fuming at him.’ It was added that most have decided to keep quiet.
Per the report, there’s a belief within WWE that WWE can’t fire him for expressing his freedom of speech. However, that doesn’t change the fact that several people aren’t happy with him.
One person suggested that the Forgotten Sons gimmick may be hard to portray on TV after current events despite what Ryker had written.
