WWE continued to usher in its new era during this week’s episode of SmackDown, with Roman Reigns using a banned term on the broadcast.
The promotion has a list of terms that are never to be used on WWE television due to several reasons, many of which have to do with the PG rating.
On SmackDown, Reigns said that Paul Heyman had been taken to a hospital after receiving an F5 from Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2022.
WWE had previously banned the term “hospital”, instead using the phrase “local medical facility.”
The company’s reasoning was that saying hospital would imply that fans in the area could find a WWE Superstar at a specific hospital nearby.
WWE has also reportedly lifted the ban on the terms ‘wrestler’ and ‘wrestling’, as part of the new era led by Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan and Triple H.
