Andrade El Idolo took some time away from AEW for his engagement to WWE’s Charlotte Flair. The former NXT Champion returned to in-ring competition several weeks ago and battled Rey Fenix on an episode of AEW Rampage. Andrade hasn’t wrestled since his match with Fenix, and it appears there is a significant reason why.
AEW President Tony Khan confirmed on social media that Andrade is dealing with an injury. Khan revealed the news while answering a fan on Twitter who asked about Andrade’s whereabouts.
Khan wrote:
“He’ll be ringside for Private Party vs Lucha Bros on AEW Rampage on TNT tonight, he’s been hurt since the classic vs Rey Fenix 3 weeks ago.
“He got Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen to help him tonight, & Lucha Bros both still want a piece of Andrade and Rush too.”
There’s currently no word on when Andrade will return to in-ring competition.
