Some very important people in WWE reportedly bashed Stephanie McMahon after she announced her leave of absence.
Last month, McMahon confirmed via tweet that she would be stepping away from the majority of her roles with WWE to spend more time with her family.
A job listing for a new Chief Brand Officer has been listed by WWE, while company President Nick Khan is expected to take on many of her roles.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that some top names had less than pleasant things to say about McMahon.
“What was notable is when we mentioned some people talking bad about her on the way out, one person noted nobody would do so publicly because it would be career suicide. However, the people who did try and get this talk about, while remaining anonymous, are key high-level people who are the last people I’d expect to do so.”
It is believed that part of Stephanie’s decision was to spend more time with her husband Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, who suffered a cardiac event last year.
McMahon is not expected to return to her roles with WWE anytime soon.
