As we reported on Wednesday (see below), Cody Rhodes suffered what seemed to be a legit shoulder injury following his tag-team match with Lee Johnson against Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi. AEW has now confirmed that Rhodes did suffer a “minor rotator cuff tear”.

In an updated report by the Wrestling Observer, Rhodes is not expected to miss any ring time, which is great news. Rhodes suffered the tear after taking a suplex from Bononi.

(ORIGINAL REPORT)

During a tag-team match featuring “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and Lee Johnson against “Pretty” Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi, Cody Rhodes appeared to have suffered an injury and “dinged his shoulder” during the match. At this time, we are unsure if this was a legit injury or kayfabe. The following statement was given by AEW’s medical team:

“Following the recording of Coach’s Corner, it was confirmed by the AEW medical team that Cody Rhodes suffered a slight tear of his left rotator cuff during his tag team match on Dynamite. His current status is TBD.”

Cody is still scheduled to team with Red Velvet to face Jade Cargill and Shaquille O’Neal in a mixed tag-team match on the March 3rd edition of Dynamite.
