The opening match for AEW Double or Nothing 2022 saw Wardlow secure his AEW status, defeating his former employer MJF in a squash match.
The match would last for approximately ten minutes, during which Wardlow would get in almost all the offense. After hitting MJF with countless powerbombs, Wardlow would finally secure the victory via pinfall.

After the match, MJF was stretchered out, before it was confirmed by Tony Schiavone that Wardlow is now officially All Elite.
