Former WWE Superstar and NXT General Manager William Regal was referenced on the latest AEW Dynamite.
The British talent was released from WWE earlier this year after over 21 years with the company.
During Dynamite, Bryan Danielson name-dropped his mentor when comparing his wrestling training to his opponent Daniel Garcia. He said,
“I had a great mentor in William Regal. He’s [Garcia] hanging out with 2.0. Imagine what it would be like if he was training with someone like myself or training with someone like Jon Moxley. He would be at an entirely different level.”
Regal has not spoken publicly about any plans to join AEW.
In a statement after being released, Regal said he will not bash WWE in any form and praised the company for ‘saving his life’ in 1999 when signing him despite his addiction problems.
