WWE plans to go away from scouting and signing older and smaller wrestlers. Instead, they plan to sign taller and younger talent for NXT.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE will no longer be scouting talent from independent wrestling promotions.
He wrote, “several in the company have told us that the word from the top is no more independent talent as far as scouting and such.” It was added that the mindset in WWE is “AEW can have all the independent talent to itself.”
