The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver – Night 1 event:
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai vs. Raquel Gonzalez
Io was trying and successfully doing a series of quick strikes in addition to dives. Io sent her to the floor then hit an outside dive. Dakota Kai attacked Io on the ring apron and was ejected from the match as a result. Raquel took over from here. Raquel worked her over with some moves for a few minutes. Io hit a sunset flip powerbomb for 2. Io went to the top rope, but Raquel dragged her down. Io got her in the crossface submission, but Raquel got out of it. They brawled up to the stage then Io hit a dive off the skull, which was part of the stage to take out her opponent. Back in the ring, Io hit a moonsault off the top rope for 2. Raquel hit her finisher for the win.
Winner: Raquel Gonzalez – NEW CHAMPION
