NXT Tag Team Champions Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner vs. Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner was booked at this year’s WWE NXT WarGames event. The following is the play-by-play coverage of the match:
The champions were in control of Kyle in the early going until Kyle caught Barthel in the face with a knee strike when he was coming off the top rope. Marcel quickly shut him down. Von got the hot tag and hit a few power moves to Barthel. Fabian caught Von and hit a rolling senton. Kyle was back in and landed some knee strikes to Barthel. Von got back in and hit a few kicks then a running knee. Von with a powerslam to Barthel then one to Fabian. Von did a double clothesline to the floor. Von with a powerslam on the apron. Back in the ring, Von with an angle slam for 2. Kyle was taken out with a moonsault while having Barhel in an ankle lock. Kyle had Fabian in a guillotine choke then rolled him up for 2. They traded big boots then clotheslines. Kyle and Von with a high-low tag team move for 2. Kyle went for an armbar on Fabian then a triangle choke and Fabian managed to tag in his partner so they could hit their finisher for the win.

Post-match, Wagner tried to turn on O’Reilly, who saw it coming and laid out Wanger before leaving the ring.
