Here are the results for the episode of WWE SmackDown airing on October 20, 2023.
We open with Paul Heyman. He announces that LA Knight will face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal title at Crown Jewel. Heyman is a huge fan of LA Knight, but it will be the last time we see him in the ring. At Crown Jewel, he is going to get smashed by Roman Reigns. LA Knight makes his way to the ring and takes the microphone from Heyman. He’s not here to talk to him. Knight wants Reigns out there now.
What is Roman going to do to him? If he’s scared, just say he’s scared. He hasn’t seen anyone like him before. When Heyman is on the phone to Roman later, let him know whose game this is. And when Roman looks at Heyman with a befuddled look, make sure he speaks the undisputed truth that is LA Knight. YEAH!
#1. Montez Ford (w/ Bobby Lashley & Angelo Dawkins) vs. Santos Escobar (w/ Latino World Order) – Winner: Montez Ford
Carlito ran down to help the LWO to fend off Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits.
– Pretty Deadly is enjoying a good pampering after last week’s win. They sit back and relax, but are grabbed and beaten up by the Brawling Brutes.
– Backstage, Jimmy Uso is ecstatic about what he did on Monday Night RAW. So much so, he won’t let Paul Heyman get a word in. Meanwhile, John Cena makes his way in to the venue.
John Cena is in the ring. He got hit with some hard truths today. It has been 2002 days since he last one a televised singles match. He has been talking a lot about retirement. It is time we faced facts. He believes he can still go. It is going to be a bad night for the next idiot who walks through that curtain. Whoever it is, is going to get smoked.
Solo Sikoa enters for a match, but it breaks down when Jimmy Uso comes to help out. A mystery person attacks Jimmy, and it turns out to be Jey Uso. They both fend off The Bloodline, and Cena will have to wait for that next win.
– Backstage, Nick Aldis decides to have Jey Uso and Adam Pearce escorted out of the building. Pearce tells him if that’s the way it is, then game on.
Logan Paul brags about what he has been doing since he last wrestled and beat Rey Mysterio. He doesn’t need Rey’s respect, or his legacy, but he does have a United States Championship, and he wants it. It looks like he will have to beat up another deadbeat dad.
Mysterio arrives to let him know that Logan Paul has incredible talent, with a big mouth just like Dom. He needs some humbling. The last time he had to kick some sense in to Dom, he was a little reluctant. But this time, he won’t hesitate to whoop his ass. Because he wants it so bad, he will give Logan the opportunity to wrestle for the United States title at Crown Jewel. They reluctantly shake hands, and Logan does not go for a cheap shot.
#2. Austin Theory & Grayson Waller vs. Cameron Grimes & Dragon Lee – Winners: Theory & Waller
Kevin Owens talks to Cathy Kelley. He says it doesn’t feel great to be apart from Sami Zayn. They experienced everything together, so to be separated hurts, but with that said, he is happy to be on SmackDown with a clean slate. He will likely cross paths with The Bloodline at some point. He’d like to have singles matches with Rey Mysterio and Sheamus at some point. No matter where he is, he hopes fans go home knowing it is the Kevin Owens show.
#3. [WWE Women’s Championship] Iyo Sky (c) (w/ Damage CTRL) vs. Charlotte Flair – Winner: Iyo Sky with a big assist from Damage CTRL
Bianca Belair returns! She tries hitting Iyo Sky with the K.O.D, but Bayley saves her, and instead takes the K.O.D to finish the show.
