Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes was booked at the WWE WrestleMania 38 pay-per-view event. The following is the play-by-play coverage of the match:
Cody came out with his AEW theme song and “American Nightmare” nickname. Cody started off with an armdrag then did an old Stardust taunt. Rollins went for the pedigree, but Cody blocked. Cody went for cross rhodes, but Seth blocked. They did a suplex spot spilling out to the floor. Rhodes worked over the left arm of Rollins.
Seth countered a dive with a drop kick. Cody with an outside dive then a moonsault off the top rope. Rollins tossed him into the barricade. Seth with a superkick, but missed the stomp. Cody with cross rhodes for a near fall. Cody went to the top rope, but was knocked off. Seth with the dragon sleeper for a near fall. Seth missed a dive and Cody with a powerbomb. Cody with a cutter for 2. Seth fought back until Cody hit cross rhodes three times and the Dusty elbow for the win.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
