On a recent edition of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T discussed the rise of WWE NXT, Drew McIntyre’s contract renewal, and more.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On the importance of WWE NXT: “I tell you, the development of the developmental system over these last five years has produced a lot of talent. That’s what was really, really cool because for a while, you didn’t see a whole lot of young talent coming out and really moving up like is happening right now, getting chosen in the Draft and stuff like that. So for me, I really think the hard work has been put in down in NXT with Shawn Michaels and his crew has really stepped it up as far as creating some really really great talent. That NIL talent has been stepping up to the next level as well, such as Tiffany Stratton who has really skyrocketed over to her two to three-year existence in this business. It goes to show that the system is working. So for me, I’m just happy to be a part of it, man.”
On Drew McIntyre: “The one guy I like that’s been doing some really, really good work is Drew McIntyre… That’s what he said [about signing his new deal]. He said, ‘Look, man, I was just fishing.’ Making sure to be smart, making sure the deal was right, making sure the money was on the table and stashed away in the bank, first and foremost.“
