WWE’s creative team has reportedly been instructed to prepare plans for Cody Rhodes’ return to the company.
Rhodes, alongside his wife Brandi, left AEW last month and it’s believed that the former TNT Champion will return to WWE six years after departing in 2016.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that creative is working on stuff for Cody and unless plans change, he’ll be making his public return soon.
This comes after it was reported that talks between WWE and Rhodes had “fizzled out” earlier this week.
Meltzer adds that McMahon does not believe talks have fizzled out and things are still on track.
Tony Khan, Cody and Brandi have all kept quiet about the circumstances behind their departure as part of a reported agreement between the three.
While WWE wants to re-sign Cody, its said that the company is not interested in Brandi Rhodes at this time.
