Impact Wrestling Results (8/26/2021)

#1. Chris Sabin vs. Sami Callihan — Winner: Chris Sabin with Cradle Shock

Moose attacks Sabin after the bell. He runs through Callihan with a spear. Moose looks to use a chair and baseball bat on Sami, but Eddie Edwards makes the save. Callihan doesn’t look grateful for the help.

– Taylor Wilde says she didn’t realize it would be a 3-on-1 at Emergence, so she might as well take them all on. Madison Rayne’s reign as Queen Bee ended years ago, and Kaleb (with a K) needs to stop trying to Facetime her, it’s getting weird.

– Backstage, Sami Callihan asks Eddie Edwards if they just became best friends. Eddie tells him to shut up, and tells him that sure, he helped him once, so he returned the favor. This means they are done, he doesn’t want his help again.

Mickie James Hypes Empowerrr

Mickie James is here! She comes to the ring and thanks the fans. They are two nights away from making history. For the first time in 37 years, Wrestling at the Chase returns, and they have legends like Gail Kim, Madusa and Jazz. She wants to thank everyone in the Impact zone, and the company for putting the title on the line. Deonna Purrazzo is your Knockouts Champion, and she is going one-on-one with the 5-time women’s champion Melina.

She could tell you how great that match is going to be, but they have made something special to show us. After a hype video, Purrazzo & Rehwoldt make their way to the ring. She has one question for Mickie James… how does it feel to have your spotlight taken from you? Let’s be serious for a second, she wants to make buzz for NWA Empowerrr. It’s historic and groundbreaking, the first female PPV run by a woman. She’s excited to celebrate women’s wrestling. But, Deonna looks at Mickie and thinks she is being dishonest. She wants people to believe her match with Melina would be competitive. That is why she has conveniently left out her beating Melina at Emergence.

James said she saw the show, and how it was Rehwoldt who beat Melina. At Empowerrr, the biggest difference is Rehwoldt won’t be there to help out. How confident is Purrazzo against someone who is so unpredictable? Ok, the champ admits she may be underestimating her a little bit, but we don’t have to wait til Saturday to see her beat Mickie’s ass right now. Purrazzo attacks Mickie, Trey Miguel runs out to deal with Rehwoldt, and Melina shows up to save Mickie.

– Brian Myers is showing Sam Beale how to cut sleeves off a shirt to look cool. He asks his mentor why he’s avoiding talking about his loss at Emergence. It’s clear that Myers wants nothing to do with talking about that, as he dresses up Beale like Big Stevie Cool.

#2. Chris Bey vs. David Finlay — Winner: Chris Bey

– As Rich Swann & Willie Mack didn’t get pinned at Emergence, they are challenging Good Brothers to a title match.

– Josh Alexander has someone in mind for his next challenger. Jake Something has a chip on his shoulder, but he didn’t match up to him at Emergence. Next week, he will issue an open challenge to any ex X-Division Champions.

Christian Cage’s Address

Christian Cage is back to address his fans. Emergence has come and gone, he beat Brian Myers. When you’re the Impact World Champion, there is a target on your back, and the new #1 contender is Ace Austin. This title right here… Ace Austin isn’t going to beat me, c’mon! Oh hello… it’s Tommy Dreamer! Cage needs to ask him a question… what the hell is wrong with his hair? Dreamer tells him he’s out here because he was very against the Callis & Omega thing. What he did for the good of Impact and everyone in the back, he wants to publicly say, if there is one person who cares about this business, it’s Christian Cage.

When you think about a sad time in the business, we went 7 years without seeing him perform. Dreamer says he hasn’t missed a beat, and he performs for the people no matter where he is. As his friend, he wants to thank him for being the best and doing all he has done for the business. They hug it out. One last thing, he hasn’t earned it, but he would love one opportunity to wrestle Christian Cage one more time, any stipulation, anywhere. Ace Austin is here to kill the mood. He says his reputation precedes him, he’s kind of the guy around here.

Ace Austin is “The Inevitable”, and at Victory Road he will make the history he was always meant to make. A 24-year-old prodigy who is destined for greatness, while Dreamer isn’t fit to be a champion ever again. He says Cage has a busy schedule, just like the old days, but after Victory Road his schedule will get lighter. Christian Cage is grateful to meet him, set your goals high kid, but he will never be the man when he’s here. If you want these people to hang on your every word, make sure you stand on your tiptoes. Austin & Fulton attack them, but Cage & Dreamer drive then out and hold the ring.

– Violent By Design says weakness is a symptom. Because of Rhino, they lost the Impact World Tag Team titles. Eric Young cannot allow him to drag them down any further, he knows he’s in the wrong, and what has to happen. There is only one answer to the sickness, and that’s violence. They will cleanse him in the holy waters of change.

– Ace Austin talks to Scott D’Amore and asks him for a match with Tommy Dreamer next week. D’Amore accepts it, but if Dreamer wins, he will be added to their title match at Victory Road, making it a Triple Threat.

#3. Taylor Wilde vs. Madison Rayne, Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb with a K — Winners: Rayne, Dashwood & Kaleb

Jordyne Grace & Rachael Ellering come to the aid of Taylor Wilde.

– Su Yung and Kimber Lee interrupt Brandi Lauren’s interview… they feast on her soul.

– Petey Williams & TJP amicably decide to stay out of each other’s way, after something went down on BTI during a match with Steve Maclin.

– Chelsea Green suggests a tag match between her & Matt Cardona against Rohit Raju & Shera because she’s “Alwayz Ready”. Cardona accepts.

– Fallah Bahh is sorry for what happened at Emergence, he wants to make it up to Tasha Steelz next week by beating Decay.

#4. The Good Brothers, Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows vs. Rich Swann & Willie Mack — Winners: Rich Swann & Willie Mack

Post match, The Good Brothers look to hit the Magic Killer on Swann, but Mack saves his best friend. The numbers catch up to him and they take him down, before getting a steel chair. They place it between the turnbuckle ropes and laugh Swann’s head through it. Good Brothers hit the Magic Killer on Mack, sending a message to the rest of the tag team division. They grab a table and set it up on the outside. Gallows & Anderson double powerbomb Mack through it! As far as they are concerned, that was too sweet.
