Impact Wrestling Results For October 14th, 2015: Roode vs. Storm

Impact Wrestling opens up with a recap of last week’s world title series matches. We are then shown Matt Hardy walking into the arena. Four new groups are revealed for the series, and they are the Tag Team Specialists, Future 4, the X Division, and TNA Originals.

Robbie E vs. Eddie Edwards is announced for the show. They show a video of Robbie calling out New England Patriots tight end, Rob Gronkowski.

Davey Richards makes his way to the ring, and he will compete against Matt after the break.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Davey Richards vs. Matt Hardy

The two lock horns to start the match. Richards looked to work the arm of Matt but found himself in a headlock. Richards eventually escaped and landed a dropkick. Richards went for a double foot stomp but was met by Matt’s boots. Matt connected with a side effect on the ring apron.

Matt lands Ricochet from a reverse DDT position, but Richards got the shoulder up. Richards hit the backstabber. Later on, Matt attempts a double ax handle but gets kicked in the chest. Richards missed his double foot stomp, and Matt hit the Twist of Fate for three points.

Winner: Matt Hardy

We are shown a video highlighting Bobby Roode and James Storm’s tag team run as Beer Money. The two will square off.

-Commercial Break-

Jeremy Borash hosts the X Division roundtable. He asks all the participants who they think will be the least likely to advance in the title series. Mandrews picks Tigre Uno while Uno picks DJ Z. Both Z and Manik agree that Mandrews would be the least likely to advance.

Singles Match: Kenny King vs. Aiden O’Shea

O’Shea rakes the eyes of King right away. He peppers King with some punches in the corner. King is kept grounded, and O’Shea lands some elbows to the face. King goes from a crucifix position to a sunset flip for a two-count. King drops O’Shea with his spin kick.

King lifts his opponent but is once again raked in the eyes. From the ring apron, King nails O’Shea with a knee and hits a springboard neckbreaker for the win and three points.

Winner: Kenny King

Eric Young says all he’s ever cared about is the world title. He says he’s going to move one step closer to what’s rightfully his. He will meet Abyss after the break.

-Commercial Break-

Davey Richards says he won’t make excuses as to why he lost to Matt Hardy earlier tonight. He says Matt was the better man. An interview with EC3 is then hyped.

At the TNA Originals roundtable, Bobby Roode says EY has lost his mind and that his mental instability will screw him over. EY says Roode just made things personal. Storm says Abyss is the least likely to advance and rips him for leaving the Revolution. Abyss says Storm made false promises and picks him as the least likely to advance.

Singles Match: Abyss vs. Eric Young

In the early going, Abyss used his strength to gain control. Abyss went for the chokeslam early, but EY bit him.

-Commercial Break-

Abyss sends EY to the outside. EY rakes the eyes of his opponent and chops him. Back in the ring, EY applies a foot choke on Abyss. EY goes for an aerial maneuver, but Abyss catches him in a chokeslam position. EY reverses it but runs into a Samoan drop.

EY chops down Abyss’ legs before finally getting caught in a chokeslam. EY got the shoulder up before the count of three. EY hits a low blow with Earl Hebner’s back turned. EY drops the elbow but fails to get a three count. Abyss lands the Black Hole Slam for the win and three points.

Winner: Abyss

EC3 is interviewed by Josh Matthews. He claims he was robbed of the TNA title at Bound for Glory. He also claims Dixie Carter, Matt Hardy, and Jeff Hardy colluded to take the championship off him. EC3 puts over Aries as a fellow cardio machine. He claims getting just one point last week was a strategy. EC3 claims to have destroyed Lashley before, and he’ll do it again. He says the series will not end until he wins.

-Commercial Break-

EY is convinced the world is against him. He says he always wins in the end. We cut to Abyss, who says Bobby Roode and James Storm will meet the same fate EY did.

Singles Match: Robbie E vs. Eddie Edwards

Edwards and Robbie exchange arm wraps until Edwards hits an atomic drop. He lands a knee to the jaw for a two-count. Edwards rams his shoulder into the ring post on the outside. Robbie hits the cannonball from the ring apron.

Later, Edwards boots Robbie to the outside. He goes for a suicide dive but stops as Robbie moved out the way. The two clotheslined each other on the outside. Edwards lifts Robbie up but is countered with a reverse DDT, and Robbie earns three points in the series.

Winner: Robbie E

Another video showed hyping up the main event. Roode is interviewed in the back. He says despite being King of the Mountain champion, he hasn’t forgotten about the world title. He puts over James Storm and the TNA Originals. He says he wants the world title more than Storm does.

-Commercial Break-

Robbie E says people forget that he’s a former tag team and X Division champion due to the big names in the world title series. He says this is a new Robbie E. We cut to Edwards, who gave Robbie his due for growing as a singles wrestler.

The roundtable for Future 4 gets heated when Eli Drake rips everyone in the group. Jesse Godderz, Crimson, and Micah all talk about how Drake is pissing them off.

Singles Match: Mahabali Shera vs. Crazzy Steve

Steve circles around Shera and does pushups. Shera is not amused. He shoulder blocks Steve to the mat and clotheslines him in the corner. Steve looked to be gaining some steam but ran right into the Sky High, and Shera earns three points.

Winner: Mahabali Shera

The final hype video for Storm vs. Roode airs.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Bobby Roode vs. James Storm

The match starts off with Storm playing mind games. Roode shoulder blocks Storm right out the ring.

-Commercial Break-

Storm gets a headlock on Roode, but the King of the Mountain champion pops Storm in the jaw with an elbow. Roode connects with a dropkick and Storm retreats to the outside. Storm distracts the ref and low blows Roode. He takes advantage by stomping his former Beer Money partner in the corner.

Storm nails Roode with a codebreaker/backstabber combo, but Roode kicks out. Storm grabs a steel chair and tries to hit Roode with it, but Roode kicks him and grabs the chair. With the ref distracted, Storm nailed Roode with the cowbell, but Roode kicked out at two.

Storm went for Last Call but missed. He then went for Eye of the Storm, but Roode countered with the Fisherman Suplex for the victory and three points.

Winner: Bobby Roode
