Claudio Castagnoli Says Recent AEW Spot Was “Awesome”

Claudio Castagnoli’s big swing on top of the Blood and Guts cage is something fans will remember for quite some time. The Swiss Superman helped his team score a massive victory over the Jericho Appreciation Society a few weeks ago on Dynamite.

As Castagnoli continues to ride his newly found momentum, the AEW wrestler spoke to NBC Sports about having to prepare for the massive spot with Chris Jericho on top of the cage. Castagnoli knew that the margin for error was small.

“Matches like that, you want to familiarize yourself with the structure. It was, if we’re going to do it, that was the only place where I felt comfortable because of the structure. There is so much stuff up there. The way the cage is welded together and lowered with the chains and how it’s rigged.”

“The way it looked and the way it was shot, it was awesome. It was one of those moments that will hopefully live on for a long time. It was freaking awesome. It was freaking awesome for me, I don’t think he enjoyed it too much. The margin for error is really small. There is no net. Literally, there is no net.”

The Swiss Superman carried his momentum to ROH Death Before Dishonor, where he defeated Jonathan Gresham to capture the ROH World Heavyweight Championship. Meanwhile, Jericho would get a bit of revenge when he defeated Eddie Kingston in a Barbed Wire Anywhere match at Fyter Fest.
