It was announced during Sunday’s NJPW Road to Destruction event in Sendai that several wrestlers had failed to show up due to illness.

Lio Rush, Jeff Cobb, Hikuleo, Gabe Kidd, Alex Coughlin, and Kevin Knight were among the talents who were scheduled for the event but eventually failed to appear due to illness.

Rush had already missed a couple of events for the same reason since October 3. Coughlin and Knight have been absent since October 4 while Hikuleo and Kidd have been sidelined since October 5. This is the first event Cobb missed due to health issues.

In other news, the new Japanese women’s wrestling promotion Sukeban has announced that its second event will take place in December in Miami, FL.

On a recent edition of the “AEW Unrestricted” podcast, Jimmy Jacobs discussed his recent in-ring return for ROH and how he is willing to wrestle any time the opportunity presents itself. He said,

“Yeah, I’ll put on tights if people ask me to. Depending on when this airs, maybe I’ll have had a match recently already, you know, or maybe not. I don’t know, I can’t tell the future. The last shows I did, I did a ten day tour in Canada for my buddy Danny at the beginning of May. Ten days in a row, and I’m fine. Look, I couldn’t be at the peak of my career if that’s what I wanted. If I wanted to be an in-ring performer, I’m 39 years old, I couldn’t be in the peak of my career. I just don’t want to do that work. I don’t want to do the work it takes to perform at a high level, I just don’t, that’s not what I’m interested in. I’m super busy with AEW, but if and when there’s time in my schedule, if someone’s like, ‘Hey Jimmy, you want to put on tights and play?’ Of course I do.”
