WWE Given More Time To Respond To MLW’s Amended Lawsuit

MLW recently filed an amended version of their lawsuit against WWE, where they accused them of violating the Sherman Act regarding antitrust practices.

Judge Edward J. Davila previously dismissed MLW’s antitrust lawsuit against WWE last month. An amended version was filed that included MLW’s agreement with REELZ to air its Underground program.

MLW Underground airs on REELZ every Tuesday night. The network recently made a deal to stream its programming on Peacock except when Underground airs. MLW alleged WWE’s deal with Peacock contributed to the case. MLW also alleged that WWE tried to prevent ROH and NJPW from holding their G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden in 2018.

PWInsider is reporting that the US District, California Northern District, has approved WWE’s request for more time to respond to the lawsuit.

Now, WWE has until April 7 to respond. MLW has until May 8 to respond to that, and then WWE would have until May 29 to support their case before the court makes a ruling.

Should it be dismissed again, it’s likely the end of the situation. Should it move forward with discovery, a possible trial may happen or they settle it.
