Jim Ross On Why ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin Hasn’t Been Booked For WrestleMania 39

Jim Ross believes that the lack of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin on the WrestleMania 39 card boils down to WWE not having “the right idea” for the Texas Rattlesnake.

At one time, it was rumored that Austin would be facing Brock Lesnar at next month’s event while another report suggested the Hall of Famer would face Roman Reigns.

Now, Lesnar and Reigns are both booked in matches, with Brock facing Omos while Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes.

Speaking on his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross spoke about Austin’s absence from the WrestleMania card. He said,

“It just tells me they haven’t come up with the right idea that makes him happy.”

Speaking about the possibility of a surprise appearance, JR said Austin could open up a cold Stevewiser or two and raise hell, but added “I can’t see him having another match.”

LA Knight has been pitched as a potential opponent for Austin but that match has not been confirmed.

WWE WrestleMania 39 will take place on April 1, and April 2, from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California.
